Meet Our Board of Directors

Rhode Island Pet Network was started in 2010 by a local animal lover as a way to network and connect various resources across Rhode Island to help shelter pets and homeless animals. It has grown over the years and is now overseen by a small team who met while volunteering at various shelters and rescues. Although Rhode Island Pet Network itself is not a rescue, all of our members have been actively involved in rescue through their involvement with other organizations in our communities.

Jordan Bouclin,
Executive Director

Jordan is a lifelong animal lover who founded Rhode Island Pet Network as a way to leverage her professional expertise in public relations and communications in support of her passion for animal rescue. She is committed to increasing visibility and aid for Rhode Island’s animal shelters, no-kill rescues, and other pets in need and working towards a no-kill nation through initiatives including social media networking, event partnerships, media relations, content development, fundraising and other forms of advocacy.

Jordan has volunteered with local and national animal rescue organizations for more than two decades and fostered dogs for 10 years. She graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Rhode Island with a degree in journalism and is currently vice president of public relations at a PR and marketing communications agency that works with a range of tech and healthcare companies.

Jordan lives in Warwick, RI with her husband and their three fur-babies (all rescues, of course).

Danielle Deely,
Director

Danielle’s photography professor at American University once said that her animal portraits were superior to that of her human subjects; not much has changed. Danielle serves as Vice President and Secretary for Rhode Island Pet Network and can be found taking pictures and petting dogs at events.

Danielle was born into a family of animal lovers. As a child, she saved her paper route money to donate to the Warwick Animal Shelter and formed an animal rescue club on the playground. In more recent years, she founded Second Chance Cats of Kent County, a social networking group to support community cats.

Danielle grew up with a menagerie and now has one dog, Emmie, and two cats, Liberty and Finn, who assist her while working remotely in the legal field. After volunteering as Public Relations Chair for a local rescue, she now professionally manages the social media outreach of a women-led national law firm. Danielle is most passionate about helping special needs and senior pets find homes.

Lauren Ruggiero, Director

Lauren has been dedicated to the health and well-being of animals since a very early age when her first hamster went with her everywhere - even camping.  Always passionate about storytelling, she began her career in television news and then expanded her knowledge as a brand marketer for local and national businesses.  The organizations which she most connected with were always the ones that supported animal welfare, to no one’s surprise.  With her marketing experience and passions combined, Lauren launched BUPPY PETS in 2017 after she couldn’t find adequate treats that were easily available as well as having ingredients that she felt confident in to give her senior dog.  Her company's mission is to give pets and their people access to thoughtfully-made snacks with conscious and simple ingredients while also donating to local rescues to give shelter residents special treats during their stay.

Being longtime friends from college, Lauren and Jordan co-founded Rhode Island's popular Woof You Be Mine fundraiser in 2018 that combines raising funds and awareness for a local rescue group and finding homes for foster animals up for adoption.

Lauren resides in Warwick with her husband, 16.5 years-young pup, a sassy cat that loves napping by the fireplace, and 12 koi fish who all have their own personalities.  She is excited to further her support of animals in the area and beyond through the growing efforts of Rhode Island Pet Network.
